There was a great turnout for the SKCC Queen’s Birthday Social ride on Monday, with many new members in attendance.  The SKCC girls were out in force too, setting the pace on the way down to Frankston.  Requests for a loo stop at Mordialloc were met with the sort of contempt that was common when asking the same question as a child … You should have gone before we left!  It seems that Rule #5 was invoked in this instance?

Lizzy Georgeson was the ever dutiful ride leader, turning at the Frankston BP and leading a shorter, relaxed ride back to St Kilda at a moderate pace.  Hollywood, sporting his pink socks (available online from Victoria’s Secret), drove the pace through the Mt Eliza Pyrenees for those members up for a harder, longer ride.  The long ride returned back to St Kilda by approximately 11:15am, with the sprinters giving it a lash on the run in to the BP at Elwood.  Results from the sprint finish were inconclusive.

The Great Provider just managed to cope with the coffee and food requirements of all riders, with the pancakes clearly the winner on the day.  As always, the post-ride café stop turned into a chat fest for many folks who hadn’t caught up for a long time, while providing new members an opportunity to meet and greet their fellow SKCC members.
