A successful day was had across all Grades for SKCC members last Saturday. The first scratch race for four weeks saw entries closed early as grade limits were reached. Fifteen SKCC riders finished in the money on the Gisborne South course.

In Men’s A Grade SKCC riders dominated with Nick Bensley from soleDevotion taking a win over Daniel Struss (CCCC) 2nd with LSD’s Cabriel Carey taking 3rd. It was a bitter sweet day for LSD with Cab’s LSD team mate actually taken the win but being disqualified for riding on the wrong side of the road in the sprint. It was karma as he had sat on the whole race and was only sighted at the finish. Lugi Vecchio worked hard and finished strong for 4th with the Godess of Thunder Nicole Whitburns partner Conan Daley obviously taking training tips from his super fast girlfriend finished an impressive 5th.

In B Grade it was similar dominance to A Grade with Alastair Berg (SKCC) taking the win over Ryan Hawson (BWK) 2nd, Jersey Doolan (BSCC) 3rd, Wesley Cordingley (Ex Machina Racing) 4th with the SKCC Treasurer Anthony Seipolt coming home like a runaway freight train to take 5th. Now Anthony has got the form to upgrade from the 5.45am North Road Ride to the 6am ride.

C Grade saw Chris Hellman (SKCC) take a hard fought 2nd with Ash Abdou and Robert Merkel both from SKCC  finishing in the Top 5.

Mark Hutchinson just missed out on the win in D Grade finishing 2nd with fellow SKCC rider  Michale Rousch coming home strongly for 5th.
