SKCC BRIGHT ALPS TRAINING WEEKEND
Traditionally anyone building strength to move up the racing grades, ride in the Tour of Bright or hit high form for the summer racing season uses the Bright Alps training camp as an annual trip to the mountains - not to be missed. Over the three days, SKCC club riders climb the three major peaks in the Victorian alpine region > Falls Creek, Mt Hotham & Mt Buffalo, a total of 300km.
These rides are all 'out-and-back' routes from the Bright central departure point with a daily pre-ride format, tips, regroup points and danger points to watch for, all spelled out by SKCC Olympian and ClubPRO advisor Rob Crowe at 3 Ridewiser Ride Briefings.
Exclusive to SKCC members and NO ENTRY FEE

INVERLOCH TRAINING CAMPS
These camps are held during April each year and are an eye-opening weekend of road riding action. You will learn to focus on the things that matter as you take on the challenge of the extraordinarily scenic and adventurous terrain of the Strzelecki Ranges. The weekend is specifically designed for advanced beginners thru' to intermediate cyclists (C-D Grade - not elite) and is also suitable for recreational cyclists who are looking to improve their bike skills and handling.
A 5 star training camp staying at the RACV Inverloch Resort, exclusively for SKCC members and limited to 40 people. The camps are run by former Olympian Rob Crowe from Ridewiser Consultancy along with volunteers from the SKCC committee and other experienced SKCC members. This is also a great way for new riders and members to meet other SKCC members who share your passion for cycling!
"I became such a better rider in the shortest amount of time!"
Andrew McGrath SKCC Member, 2011 Inverloch Challenger
This famous quote is becoming a routine feedback line after each year's running of the ever-popular Ridewiser Inverloch Challenger weekend for St.Kilda Cycling Club members. Now in its 9th year, the brilliant Gippsland scenery and unquestionably adventurous riding courses are to be experienced earlier in February for the first time. Riders are getting more and more technical, training and personal cycling advice each year from our expert Ridewiser Instruction Team, both on-road during the skills sectors or over meals and social times throughout the weekend.
It was such a blast for all involved over the previous few camps that it's been moved back into the main summer period when more riders want to develop their abilities, skills and training volume. Some riders spend 6-12 months preparing to qualify for entry, while others return 2 or 3 times to hone their skills as they climb the cycling ability ladder.
The weekend is capped at just 40 riders for 2014 and remains a restricted event to SKCC Members only.
