COMPETITIVE LICENCES
Competitive Licences are based around a Calendar Year in line with the UCI. (1st January to 31st December).
Membership is age based and is a full competitive membership that entitles participation in all forms of racing conducted by CA and its affiliated States and Clubs.
Click here to check your category for 2013 membership based on year of birth.
Categories summarised are:
- Juniors: J9, J11, J13, J15, J17, J19
- Adults: U23 (men only), Elite, Masters
If you are of Masters age (30yrs +) you can choose between a Masters or an Elite licence.
The most frequently asked question is: “Elite or Masters – what’s the difference ?”
A MASTERS LICENCE ENABLES THE RIDER TO ENTER:
- Any Masters events including State and National Masters Championships
- Graded racing at club level (eg: SKCC Crits)
- Graded racing at club-combined level (eg: Northern Combine Winter Road season)
- Is $70 a year cheaper than an Elite Licence
AN ELITE LICENCE ENABLES THE RIDER (OF MASTERS AGE) TO ENTER:
- Any racing event including National open and Championship events.
- Any Masters events including State and National Masters Championships.
- Graded racing at club level (eg: SKCC Crits)
- Graded racing at club-combined level (eg: Northern Combine Winter Road season)
- Access to this flexibility will cost you $70 a year more than a Masters Licence
An example:
If a race organiser provides both an Open category AND a Masters category, if you are on a Masters Licence you MUST race in the Masters category, if you are on an Elite Licence you can CHOOSE to race either Open or Masters.
