In 2009 the SKCC Committee undertook a review of grades that have been previously been held for the Club Championships, both Road and Criterium.

CLUB CHAMPIONS AND RUNNERS UP
The Club Champion will be awarded to the winner of the Men's and Women's race. These a mass start event for both Road and Criterium Championships. A rider's category in the Men's division will be determined by the category that is listed on their Cycling Australia Racing Licence. We treat the Women's division a little differently given the smaller number of Women members. A rider's category in the Women's division is determined by their grade, either A or B grade. This will be decided by the grade in which they have ridden during the Criterium/Road season.

The Men's Categories are:
Elite (Open), Masters 2/3 (35 - 44 age group), Masters 4/5 (45+ age group)

The Women's Categories are:
A Grade, B Grade

1st, 2nd, and 3rd will be awarded in each age category (men), or grade (women). A  Masters 2/3 rider may be first over the line and be awarded the Men's Club Championship and will also win 1st in their respective category. A  women's B grade rider may be first over the line and be awarded the Women's Club Championship and will also win 1st their Grade.
